R&P - Romance - The Vow

The Vow is typical of the genre of romance films. As the trailer introduces the two main characters being 'deeply in love' However if we make reference to Propp's theory, at the start of the trailer we don't recognise the hero of the piece nor what would be considered as the 'princess'. Although one can assume its the man.
As then trailer continues on we seen that the equilibrium is interrupted or disturbed by an accident. If we make refrence to Todorov's theory in which the hero has to save the day and save the 'princess' and in this case the man must make his wife, who has forgotten everything, fall in love with him again.
The trailer like many other trailers of this genre gives away much of the plot but does not show the ending and the repair of the disruption make them, go and see the film.

Mise en scene is used to create the atmosphere that director intended to create. Be fore the accident it is all bright and colourful with romantic settings. With the characters looking like their enjoying themselves
